Original Dotty Spotty Baby Blanket Pattern

I designed this for a work colleague who was having her first baby way back in 2015. I didn’t know if baby would be a boy or a girl so chose these neutral colours. I used gorgeous soft cotton yarn. I am so glad I did – it feels divine.  This is the patterns for the yellow and green Dotty Spotty the layout only as shown in the photos.

For more Dotty Spotty fun, check out the Dotty Spotty book here and the digital version here

The pattern includes;

  • written patterns in UK & US terms,
  • yarn needs to make the yellow and green blanket
  • charts for all 5 dotty spotty patterns
  • joining and border instructions

Blanket size

Each block is 6" or 15 cm. The complete blanket is 35" or 90cm across. Of course, you can easily make this larger by adding more squares.

You will need:

Yarn: 8 ply/DK/light worsted yarn ( I used Bendigo Woollen Mills cotton)

  • Daffodil (yellow): 55 grams/134 metres/147 yards of 1 ball used
  • Pine Lime (green): 60 grams/145 metres/159 yards of 1 ball used
  • Parchment (neutral): 330 grams/800 metres/875 yards of 2 balls used

Hook: 4 mm
