About the pattern...

I love turning circles into squares and I’ve provided 5 patterns for 5 different circle sizes so you can do it too. So much fun!

I designed this for a work colleague who was having her first baby. I didn’t know if baby would be a boy or a girl so chose these neutral colours. I used gorgeous soft cotton yarn. I am so glad I did – it feels divine.

Each block is 6" or 15 cm when worked with 8 ply yarn and a 4 mm hook.  The complete blanket is 35" or 89 cm across. Of course, you can easily make this larger by adding more squares.

I’ve included instructions for the joining method I used and also the border in the 15 pages of the pattern. I’ve also included close up pictures of each square and a special trick to make your circles as seamless as possible.

The pattern is available in both UK & US terms.

Easy but effective

very easy pattern, suit a beginner or I found very relaxing to crochet after sirens atlas. The way squares joined is very effective and I feel I will make blanket again
