Manderley Crochet Blanket Pattern

Last night I dreamt I went to Manderley again

Such a wonderful opening line from the book Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier.

My next big blanket project is called the Manderley Crochet Blanket Pattern after the estate in the book.  The house is surrounded by giant rhododendron bushes and so the very floral look of this design fits the name well.

Manderley pattern

Lovely pattern even though I do not like the back loop element. The result looks great and I will persevere. There is probably a knack. I initially made two small squares ready for Granny Square Day

All the help I needed was there.

I like Shelley’s pattern. It was challenging for me as an intermediate, but this pattern has all the help I needed, with thorough, written descriptions, charts and pictures. Shelley packs a lot into her rows.

This pattern is also very versatile. You could make any number of blankets from it just by choosing different combinations of blocks… it’s like a ‘choose your own adventure’ pattern. So many choices.

Manderley Pattern

I absolutely love this pattern! Whilst it is still on my “to do” list, the pattern is just stunning. I absolutely love that Shelley does her patterns in both US and UK terminology and with charts as well, it is well laid out with so many helpful pics and different colour ways.
